It was on the outside and didn’t really impede the Germans but I wasn’t sure of the rules. Hope you’re right!

Pretty concerned they might lose that medal. Daryl’s foot touched the outside white line in one of the replays.

Seb Rodger is way down the lists so it is not a surprise. Andy Vernon can’t be invited as the rules state no invites at 5000m or 10000m.

Chris Baker’s twitter may show his frustration at not being picked or at not knowing! Hopefully it is the latter though I am personally more excited about Tom Gale potentially getting picked as Chris has not had…[Read more]

Edoburun did set off early at the World Relays and was the cause of the DNF. Possible that they are worried he might make a similar error under even more pressure at a home WC.

Can definitely see him being a very successful anchor for us in the future as he matures.

Definitely a waiting game – suddenly Alicia Barrett is top of the list in the group waiting to move up into a place. Would need 2 or 3 more to drop out (not be selected). I am guessing it might be another day or so before we know for sure.

Selecting athletes is always a hot topic in our country but some countries are even more ruthless!

South Africa have excluded a large number of athletes (even though they have the standard)!

From what I can pick up from twitter, the SA selectors have only chosen athletes who will at least make the semis. This means they have selected no men’s…[Read more]

So Turner, Proctor, Sawyers, Waite and Scott are in.

Sadly Greg is out (not unexpectedly). Kilty is also out injured.

The press release mentions that others may be added if further invites arrive e.g. Beesley, Wallader, Gale and Baker

Rachel Wallader was 1 place off the list (according to Road to London) but someone must have dropped out as she is now in the last spot. Would be good to have another thrower in London (as we have so few) so I hope they accept an invite for her.

Meghan Beesley has ended up in the last spot (and only invite spot) for the 400mH.

    Ieaun Thomas needs…[Read more]

And so it proved as another favourite falls, you can never be sure!

Can’t see anyone beating Lonsdale in the 800m, he has been running well within himself.

Having said that, Ingebrigtsen and Toth were nailed on favourites today and both fell so you never know!

When I wrote the post they were still on 2.28m and the other lad hadn’t cleared the 2.30m yet so the group on invites at 2.28m would have still maybe squeezed in, perhaps it’s unlikely now.

That would be sad and unfortunate as he is a real talent based on watching him today. For one of his attempts at 2.30 he had the height and brushed it with…[Read more]

Marc Scott – 13:22.37 big PB and just inside the QT of 13:22.60 in Heusden. He ran that in the B race.

Andy Vernon ran 13:22.65 in the A race, can’t get much closer than that!

  • replied to the topic mattrh17 in the forum Current events 7 months ago

We can add Tom Gale to that too, currently 2.28m – massive PB!

Harry AA won the men’s 100m final in 10.13 (1.6) SB which bodes well for the relay beating Fearon 10.21 SB.

Also a PB for Adam Thomas 10.24 in 3rd.

Flannery and Rodger both ran under 50 seconds in the 400mH but not quick enough for a QT or invite (SB of 49.74 for Flannery). Paul was just outside 50. Will only be Jack Green in this event unless…[Read more]

Meghan Beesley has run 56.14 at Loughborough today. Just outside the 56.10 standard but will hopefully get her an invite. She has had a horrible time with injuries so hopefully gets a run out in London to make up for some lost time.

Also a PB for Caryl Granville in that race 56.59 and Lina Nielsen also ran a personal best of 57.87 in a different…[Read more]

    23.15 (-1.0) 3rd behind Felix in 22.80.

    Better than I expected.

56.08 PB for Turner which is also a QT for London.

DAS is running the 200m in Italy later – will be interesting to see how she runs.
