I don’t know what Dina’s plans are but the schedule for the sprints is certainly an incentive for the top athletes to double.

They have kept the rule introduced in Amsterdam giving a bye in the heats to the top 12 ranked athletes so the top sprinters would only need to do the semi & final. I’d like to see Dina double – I’d fancy her chances of…[Read more]

Good to see MHS injury not too serious.

Rununlimited – As she is not pro there is obviously no incentive for her to run any Diamond Leagues etc. She may do World Juniors but she may also just end her season after the NCAA champs or US champs.

In positive figures now. Whoop Whoop

I would agree that the Brits by & large aren’t taking these games as seriously as the Aussies. Not just the athletics but for the likes of Swimming, Gymnastics & Cycling the Europeans in Glasgow in the Summer are a bigger deal.

In contrast, most Australians skipped the world cycling champs last month to peak in the Gold Coast

Wherever one sits on the hyperandrogynism debate, there should be nothing personal against Caster who just wants to run.

Poor from Pozzi, still too inconsistent in his hurdling for me.

Sophie has been very inconsistent since her brilliant performance in Rio but that was a shocker, no its or buts.

At least some promising performances in the…[Read more]

I guess doing the Triathlon individual and relay events the last few days Potter was never going to do anything much.

Good that all the home nation athletes made 1500 final, although I agree that MacDonald was very fortunate. After Semenya the minor medals are up for grabs.

Well done to Simbine – not sure why he was overlooked so much given…[Read more]

Great performance by Miller. And from Mark Dry too – Bennett was below par compared to his recent outings.

Frustrating from MHS. Looks in good shape; no excuse for poor lane discipline in a heat. A wasted opportunity

Yep his final year in College. Hopefully nothing too serious injury wise & the right thing to do to take it easy rather than aggravate things.

He’s got 2 Months until the NCAA so decent amount of time to recover. He’s clearly got a 8300-8400 score in him.

As well as qualifying for NCAA that’s also comfortably qualified him for the Europeans.…[Read more]

I think those totals include the Para events.

Excluding the Para events I make it that England won 23 medals in Glasgow (3 golds), Scotland 3 & Wales 1. I think a similar overall total this time with more golds.

Will do my predictions for the game shortly

Excellent Day 1 score for Duckworth. Let’s hope he smashes the 8000 barrier tomorrow.

I’m sure I remember back in the day reading that Matt Le Tissier & Graeme Le Saux as Channel Islanders were eligible to represent all the Home Nations at football but chose England. Perhaps that’s the same for the British Overseas territories. Though surely with surnames of Hughes & Williams, Zharnel & Delano should be representing Wales.

    With…[Read more]

I suspect that Denise may not have heard of him.

It wouldn’t surprise me if neither Denise or Colin followed or watched athletics when the BBC aren’t paying them.

So that would be 2020 before he’s eligible then.

  • replied to the topic ladyloz in the forum Current events 4 months ago

Yep. The likes of Marlon Devonish and Christian Malcolm regularly ran the event back in the day when it was still a championship event.

It’s run more often in America as it’s still an NCAA event. But I wonder if NMB will bother with the event now he’s finished College.

Thanks for the info. You may have some knowledge of what is required for him to get his British Passport. I don’t know anything about his family circumstances but I presume neither of his parents are British otherwise he’d be automatically entitled to a Passport and would have competed at the euro Juniors last Summer.

Prescod and Edoburun also not going to the Gold Coast so it seems to be a training group/coach decision
