I’d love to see her in Birmingham. Wasn’t it 2016 NCAAs where she was poised to break the pentathlon WR?

    Are you sticking to that?

It’ll start 28th September and finish on 6th October. Mid/late 20s is the average around then, but 45C is the record.

Most athletes are probably gonna miss them anyway because around then is when they’ll start preparing for Tokyo.

At this rate, Eugene might lose the ’21 games so a great big mess overall.

My thought exactly, consider this revenge.

Kudos to the boys, breaking an 18 year old NR when it mattered most. I can’t see Kilty or Harry A-A staking a claim to the team anymore.

As for Bolt, he’ll wish he retired last year. Then he’ll look in his account and see 10 million reasons why he stayed on. Doesn’t take from his status or legacy.…[Read more]

    Linford says hi.

Of course he’s disappointed, nobody competes not to make the final. However, he said himself he didn’t have faith or something to that effect, I don’t remember the quote.

Admittedly, I was wrong on the showing no form part upon re-evaluating his performance in Rio. However, his selections three years straight are only because of absences or…[Read more]

And what’s of those PBs? He said himself he should be making finals by now and that something is wrong. He has all the tools yes, but lacks confidence. Gemili et al believe they belong at the top and have shown it on their best days. That’s a big difference.

There’s nothing to suggest he would’ve won. His form prior to being injured was…[Read more]

Hughes, Gemili and NMB have consecutively made major finals and placed 5th, 4th and 4th. Five years ago, that wasn’t even imaginable.

Meanwhile, Talbot has attended the same three championships and only makes the semis. I think Daniel flatters to deceive, running well at nationals and showing no form when the time comes. Selectors should keep…[Read more]

Ta Lou has not learnt her lesson. No dip cost her the bronze last year and the gold this year.

Come on London, don’t let me down.

I could write an essay on why the Gatlin vitriol, from the press and last night’s crowd, can be justified and how the whole “boo every drug cheat” argument is a cop-out.

Freedom of expression baby! They don’t like Gatlin and they let him know. Remember this is exactly what we were afraid of in Beijing and I’d love to be a fly on Lord Coe’s wall right now.

Maybe a few post-race urine samples get tainted? I can hope…

The boos ringing across Stratford make me proud to be a Londoner.

Bolt’s got this. He knows what he’s doing.

Injuries and age aside, I wonder if Germaine’s death has affected Bolt’s preparations.

Reid ran a PB but it’s a huge jump from his previous best and like TK852 says he would have to back it up to prove it wasn’t an anomaly.

Meanwhile, Zharnel has ran 10.04 basic and a 400m PB this year. He’s in top shape, but today was clearly a bad race and he can do better when the time comes RE: Beijing.

They’ll give the 100 to Ujah and 200 to Zharnel. Gemili will have to settle for a relay spot and unfortunately hasn’t shown that he should get more than that.
