Maybe we don’t need all this gimmicky stuff like Nitro after all???
Think about it and athletics is a sport well-suited to the “short-attention-span-generation”. Most track races last only a few minutes or less. Once a race starts you get quick gratification unlike most sports where a match will last an hour or more. Furthermore, you can dip in and out of a broadcast easily since understanding/appreciation of say the 1500 isn’t dependent on having earlier seen the 200 for example. How much people are engaging with field events I’m not sure though, since they’re poorly covered by the BBC.
